Please forgive me, what does HM mean? I'm sure I'll feel dumb when I find out.....
Thank you bud. This is just a newer version of the ESEE-6 with a modified handle. I'm guessing the HM stands for "handle modified".
The standard 6 has more of the blocky scales to it and includes a finger choil to choke up a bit more on the blade.
This version has more contoured handles that allow for what is intended to be a more comfortable grip, but eliminates the finger choil.
Hope this helps.
Thank you bud.
I'm mulling it... I've always wanted a standard Esse 6 and never heard of the modified handle, the only Esse I own is an Izula. There was a thread earlier about what Christmas gift are you getting yourself for Christmas. I replied an Esse 6 and another member told me about this model. So I went from not knowing it existed to having a great chance to snag one. I'm trying to talk myself into it. Only hold up is I got a Cold Steel lucky yesterday, a Cold pocket bushman on the way and a recent pair of sunglasses. Maybe after a few more beers it'll be easier to justify...My pleasure.
I've got a standard ESEE and love it, but I changed out the handle scales to custom TKC ones that fit the palm a bit better. I also love finger choils.
If you're in the market for a good all around camp knife, I would heartily recommend an ESEE-6 - maybe this one, depending on how you think you'll like the modified handles.
