Hey I just received a Brk Esee Avispa folder in the mail and the lockup looks to be about 70-80% and pretty close to the far side.Is it really a problem for the lockup to be that late or is it no big deal?Should I send it back for an exchange or keep it?Do any of y'all have any experience with these knives and if so is it a similiar case to mine?

Only Getting one next week but like many here at blade forum I have a decent collection of framelocks from those that started late but never moved (crks), those become late within the first week(Emersons), to those early and never moved (ZTs).. I think late lock up is actually a good thing, seen enough spine wacks on line to know the later the better .
I'm rambling a little now... Just my opinion, late lock is ok especially on steel framelocks.. As long as it doesn't move any further in a month or two then it should stay put.

not a problem if the lock is stable and strong. people get obsessed with early lock up with the crazy idea that it is better and it will last longer , but a solid built liner or frame lock knife with strong stable late lock up will last just as long as an early lock up one.
