+1!! It's more of an actual kit than just a handle and firesteel. There's always the real nice custom wood handled ones for around $40-50 :rolleyes:. Fine with paying $25-30 for an ESEE firesteel tool. EDIT that...Just ordered one, for just under $38 that includes cost, shipping, and sales tax.

Similar sized steels go from about $25 to over $50.
Just the stell rod blank is going to run you about $8, the cost of the handle makes it one hell of a deal really.

I've used all the rods below, and the ESEE kit really is the best of them.

I agree -- I put a blaze orange lanyard with a glow-in-the-dark bead on both my Fire Kit and my emergency whistle. That really helps with keeping track of those smaller items, but an orange Kit would be even better!
 
If you are worried about loosing it it should be pink instead of orange as pink is proven to be even easier to find than orange (think fall and changing leaves)
