ESEE Junglas vs. Bark River Scagel Camp Ax??

Where are you going? How much will you hike each day? How much chopping will you be doing?

For N. Kentucky (your listed location) I'd go with the axe and a mid size knife. I love the junglas but I love the way my bark river camp axe chops. Also, 2-7 days is a rather large range don't you think? :p

I always go into the woods in the East with a hatchet or axe. They make short work of chores that might take the junglas a bit longer. Though I will give the junglas the nod in the weight category. If weight is a concern for you, go with the junglas. If you are doing a good amount of chopping, take the BRKT axe.

Hiking, if you are going around the N. Ky. area, or over on this side of the river in S/W corner, the Junglas will be all you will need UNLESS you are going into a heavily wooded area such as south of here. Tony is right that the axe/hatchet would be the best then, but for around this area, I have taken the Junglas on 3-4 day hikes/camps and it did everything I needed it to, plus the weight was helpful.
What areas are you going to, hiking in/out, vehicle, canoeing, etc. ??
Have a great time, post some pics when you get back.
Be safe.
