Esee Life Change

Moreso than any one particular story it was the peace of mind I had, no matter how deep I dug myself I always had tools that were completely reliable that could be utilized to dig myself out.

congrats on your life change and the weight! wow!

simple is better. always for me. I can't say ESEE changed my life, but they did change my knives. like my Glocks, they just work and work hard. My non-Randall knives (pre and post ESEE) are all I use/carry now in EDC or woods. Everthing else has been sold off or given away...well other than a Spyderco Mili in LH...but it will be replaced with the Izula Folder when it comes available.

In rock crawling circles there's a guy building bomb-proof stuff - Shrockworks. His deal is simple. Beat on his bumper or rock sliders...as hard as you can. If you can ever damage them and want him to replace 'em...he'll do it free. He's a legend for that and I have his stuff all around 2 of my rigs.

Anyone building anything with a warranty like that that...or the RAT/ESEE warranty...It just wins me over.

I know his stuff :) and thats around the lines for me as well, I am going to go with a shorter emerson because of the length rule for CA, I was considering another Aegis black on black for just basic cutting chores from rope to tape, haven't ordered the emerson yet however. Been so busy, and have a bit invested in a current bike build...ugh...spent way to much :\ going to/need to flip, selling hopefully to my uncles private gallery to free up cash :)

Congrats on the weight loss!! Hmmm maybe since ESEE knives have been so good for your health you can get your health insurance to buy you some new ones each year:rolleyes:

your story is very inspiring and impressive. If only mine could be so great. I also enjoy your take on life. I myself love the outdoors and esee has made it even better

When I think back on all the crap I learned in highschool, it's a wonder I can think at all.

I like the Paul Simon lyric that starts the song Kodachrome. I am a teacher in a university and often have classes with students in their first semester. Many times times they want all the rules laid out so they know what to do and we know that this isn't the truth when we finally have to make our own way in the world. Do I blame the students, not at all they are young and they just need to live some more.

I believe we are all more capeable then we think. I live in Ecuador. I was dissatisfied with my life in the states. Who did I blame? The system? my parents? no, I realized that my decisions make my life. I chose to come here and it has paid dividends. Self awareness and self reliance, lessons taught through difficult times. But as human beings we are made for change, it's difficult but often not impossible.

ESEE knives are made for the most strenuous and demanding situations but many times we only wish to change our lives in small or aceptable amounts. I like this ESEE forum for the resilence the members show. No excuses and responsibility for their actions. If the ESEE product helps you in your situation, God bless, but your brain is much sharper and versitile.

My izula cut me out of a flipped Wrangler's 5-points and soft top last year.

My rc-3 also got me back outdoors again after a while.

Great thread, definitely some good stories.

I am in the process of building a nice small framed bike with a large gas tank.

That sounds great! I bought an old Honda 650 but didn't have enough skill to ever get it running well. 4 seperate carbs was a real pita.

If I had the money and could do it all over again I'd maybe get a real small enduro. Those smaller bikes get great mileage. But it sounds like you are an expert.
