I've wondered that'd too. But I have Ferber multitoa break and fail all me and they seem generally cheaper. I've got 3 different leathermans now (wave, sure, and the new mut) and I wouldnt trade them for another multitool that's out there currently.
 
Well you figure SOG, Leatherman and Gerber pretty much dominate that market. With team ESEE's standards it would cost a small fortune to buy one plus years to develop. Rather just carry a SOG multi-tool and an ESEE fixed blade.

I just reprofiled and convexed my ESEE turd today... Tried forcing a patina, didnt work too well...
 
My Leatherman Wave with the complete bit kit has saved me many walks out to my truck to get my tool kit when doing IT work... Perfect tool for taking a PC apart...
