ESEE(RC) 3/4 and Fallkniven F1...

I used my F1 for a two week bushcrafting trip in Canada and for me, it's nearly the perfect knife. The convex slides straight through wood with ease, despite the blade thickness.
Wouldn't mind the handle being a little thicker though. One day the mircata F1's will call to me...

But the RC4 is also a great knife, a real tank. Similar blade shape on both knives, which is why I like them. Nothing like a good flat ground 4" blade.

I really like the Fallkniven Pilot knife, but the sheath options suck. That zytel sheath is a joke. It looks like something that should come with a cheap fillet knife.

I actually prefer the zytel sheath. Retains my knife well and offers great protection. I also like how narrow it is.

The Fallkniven F1 is one of my favorite knives.

I actually like the F1 zytel sheath better than my RC3/4 sheaths. It is a matter of using both and drawing your own opinion. I like how the F1 sheath rides & almost dangles to an extent. The F1 is everything needed and not bulky or oversized for the knife. It is ready to go out of the box, no cord/clip to deal with and no need for a Tek Loc or other attachment system.

..you can always buy a "naked" F1 and put some Linen Micarta on them yourself..i did :)

Does anyone know off hand where one could buy the blade only. Other than there site?
Also, was this knife ever sold with Vg-10 steel. Not laminate VG-10?

They used to be made with non laminated VG-10. No longer. The only way to pick one up would be an old second hand one.

Thanks for the quick response Bartch:thumbup:

I also second Moogoogaidans request..Make me a micarta scales too!

Thanks for the compliments guys.
moogoogaidan, i've send you an email, didn't you get it yet?
Doc13, sorry, i don't make the scales anymore. It takes too much time and they would be to expensive. It was a kind of trial hobby project of me.
Greets,
Bart

Hey Bart, no, I haven't gotten your e-mail. You sent it to my yahoo account?

At any rate, thanks for the response even if i didn't get it -- too bad you're not selling the scales, they're really, REALLY nice!

You're probably saving me money as i'm actually only interested in getting a Fallkniven if I can get them with your scales. Cheers, and be proud that there's someone out there that thinks your foray into custom scales produced the most attractive knife in the world! :D
