ESEEs Black Oxide Finish

Anybody have one of these? How does it hold up with use compared to the powdercoat? Seems like it would slice better.
 
I removed my powder coating because I felt it would slice better. I don't think black oxide would be much of a determent to slicing as powder coating would. IMO You should keep a light coat of mineral oil after removing any coating due to it not being SS, Mine if I remember is 1095 steel.

Sorry, my only experience is with their powder coated knives but I remember reading on their forums that some thought the black oxide models sliced a little better - I imagine it would feel pretty similar to a stripped blade.

Also, I can’t remember which finish this was in reference to but I remember that while they can’t recommend using them for food prep they themselves have no problem with doing so.
