Pornish for the hornish..

I'm going to be making some of these as they fit like a dream, wont be tigereye but more like Maple Burl and whatever other stock I have out there... 20 yr old stock fellas.. Maybe with a small lanyard hole..

I think I may use another style chicago screw, so we'll see.. But I like 'em makes it a completely different knife, with the obvious visual but the physical is like a dream:)

Put me on the waiting list. Seriously, I want to get a set before Moose or Bladite. :D
Those will ratchet the EsKabar over the top.

That looks good man. That "Tiger Eye" is a Micarta correct? Did you make it?

These Chicago screws you speak of, Is that a knife makers fastener? Where might I find those?

Awesome job there! Looks really, really nice!

The design you have there, while likely not water-tight, will keep a lot of water, debris, etc. out of the inner section.
I like the idea of a lanyard hole, and if you do one, you might use some tubing to keep that same sealed-off functionality.
Of course, that element would likely make the scales permanent. If you're just making scales that can come off, maybe just a simple drilled hole?
Just food for thought.

awwwww, that's so sweet. wow. generous too!

yeah, those are realllllly nice. if you should email me sometime, we'll have to talk.

lanyard holes. yes! especially if you work out a fittted piece of say brass, that can sandwich between the scales and "lock in"... kind of like those hop-up inserts for inline skates back in theday, if you know what i mean.

carbon fiber would look MEAN, though any good hardwood... osage orange... or birch with linseed oil... yeah baby

good good good job!

Very well done! I am truly impressed!! They even make it look like an entirely different knife!!!

That's actually a good idea.
Scale holes drilled the same size as the tube hole, but counter-sunk on the backside to accommodate the complete diameter of the tubing, which is sandwiched between the scales.
For bringing that to the table, Bladite should get a set right after I do.

How dose it handle?

hehehehe Get it? Handle? hehehehe I'm so weird.

But seriously how does it handle with the new sweet looking awesome scales on it?

Those are great. Totally redefines the knife, IMO. I'm not much on skeletal handles. A handle like that makes it a much more usable blade to me.

Those are awesome!!

I EDC my 14 on my belt, and I think those would be SCHWEET!!

I'd really prefer the micarta over wood, but I'm sure the wood would be nice too.

Okay, I haven't been able to find this material anymore.. But I have stabilized and kiln dried 20 yo Curly Maple, I'll do a few of these. (since I have the material)..maybe some in black linen or canvas micarta, I also have some stag and elk but that just wont cut it on an Esky.:barf:.

Plan to pick up some dark dimondwood like cocobolo/rosewood..

Hopefully I can find some straight forward time within the next week or so and slam some out..

Regarding the lanyard maybe a 3/16" tube epoxied to one side of scales as wood the screws be, makes for easy assembly..
