Eskabar updated sheath - Does anyone here have any experience with it?

I'm not sure when it started but I noticed that the Eskabar sheaths now come with plastic tab bolted on. Images can be found on Kabar's website. I can't find any info on the web but I did get a vague response from an online retailer stating that the spine of the blade is now pushed against the sheath. Does anyone have any experience with the updated sheath, and if so can you give any details about how it works and if the update effectively prevents the blade from being dulled against the sheath? Thanks.

Might get more answers in the Becker sub. ;) Welcome to the forums!

I don't have any experience with the new one, but from what I've read, it has stopped the dulling issue, and holds the knife in securely.

WELCOME! There's tons of info and experience here along with expert help.

If the mods don't move this, try posting in the Becker subforum for all things BK - that's where all the Beckerheads hangout, including Ethan Becker himself. ;)

I only have the older non-tab sheath but I'm sure others will confirm that the new sheath is supposed to hold the blade more securely while not dulling the edge during extraction/insertion.

Thanks for the replies. I reposted under the Becker sub. If the mods want to ax one of the the threads I guess it should be this one.

Can I get a new one for my old Eskabar? Mine has dulled the blade every time I use it, and I'd love to carry it more often.

I'll sell you mine, I hate the damn thing. Sending knife off tomorrow to get a decent sheath made for it.
