Hey guys, in the field for a good solid neck knife. I have a $40.00 visa gift card and decided this is what i'm going to buy. So, i know the izula is esee and not becker, but it's similar and the eskabar is a spin off of the necker & izula. I havent been able to find the izula for under like $45.00, but the necker and eskabar have both been well under 40. So, what's the concensus?

I do really like that Izzy II. Sweet little blade.
It's more expensive though, so I'd go with an EsKabar.
However (again I'm trying to spend your money :D), I really like that I shelled out an extra $15 for the Izula scales for my EsKabar.
I just used mine to slice a banana.

The Izula scales fit the EsKabar. Roger that. See middle knife.

i just like me my EsKaBar just fine :)

will get some handles on one sometime, but i do like the thin nature of skeletonized knives. no extra bulk.

That ESKabar is one hard working knife, with some good ergonomics. Its my EDC and a damn good knife for less $40.

Go with EsKaBar, it has the bad a$$ Becker blade with that surgical tip, and the awesome sauce handle o the izula, best of both worlds, IMO. I have a necker and wish it were the EsKaBar.

Yep Eskabar FTW! Been using it quite a bit since I got it and I really like it. Works great around the kitchen too.

I don't have an escabar but I do own several izulas.. here's my take on a neck knife (which I prefer).. I like to add a little psk with rb on the sheath, the izula's design is VERY unfriendly for this option, the escabar's more squared sheath seems like a winner to me, again I've never seen one in person so idk..

here's one of my izula's with the sheath trimmed down, I've since put a small psk on it with rb's, but because of the shape doesn't hold all that great..
(this pic was to show how many knives I could carry minus my g26 and still be comfortable, a lot of knives there for one week)

Think this same thread is running in general as well. All three are great - I went with the BK-11. I'd do it again though the BK-14 looks better (imo).

I just ordered the BK14. I like the 11, but the handle design doesn't look like it'll do well in my hands. My Izula feels nice in the hand, and since the handles are the same...

Not to mention I dig the collaboration between my two favorite blade companies.

I don't have the BK-11 yet, it's lost somewhere in the postal system, but I have had two Izulas.

The Izula is a tough little knife to be sure.

and it does well in fire crafting.

But, honestly of the smaller RAT/ESEE knives I personally prefer the HEST.

I am just getting started with the BK-14 but so far I really like how it handles and I am loving having the longer blade. I'll definitely have to smack around on it some but already knowing the toughness of Beckers I definitely prefer it to the Izula.

That said I am in the minority because after recently handling one up at Half Moon Ridge I am thinking I may well just like the BK-11 better the the BK-14 for my own reasons, I'll let you know when I get it.

How did you do that wrap on the handle? I love the look of that.

Doubtful. That would put the EsKabar at $25 or less. If you find 'em that cheap, let me know, and I'll order another one.

I just ordered one ( like a miniute ago) [la la la, la la la, la la la LA LA]

I apologizes for that. I didn't realize.
