Eskabar VS Izula VS Necker

Am I really the only one who likes BK11 better than Eskabar?

I like them both the same for neck carry and the 11 has the advantage with the bottle opener, but I like to switch up my method of carry. On the belt tip down strong side the 14 wins out. The 11s bottle opener digs into my side. Both are awesome knives.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I have an Izula and a BK11, both fantastic knives, preference for the Izula. The Eskabar is cheap enough, might have to add one to the lineup.

*edit. Should check time stamps when searching post through the forum - my mistake.

I've had an Izula and a BK14 and I've also used a BK11.

The Izula has the best sheath - holds the knife very secure and doesn't dull the blade at all.The blade of mine Izula had a very thick ground and wasn't much of a slicer. It's also quite short and I find it uncapable of some EDC tasks like food preparation for example.

The BK11 - too short handle for my taste. The blade has a thinner ground, compared to the Izula, but it wasnt a good slicer too...The sheath dulled the blade and made it unusable.

The BK14 is a completely different beast - the handle is good, the blade of mine had a thinner ground than the BK11,not to mention the Izula. The BBK14 is a great knife and the blade is awsome - I like it very much,it just slices all kind of stuff like a light saber. But the sheath of mine was a complete dissapointment - it just dulled the blade - a couple of draws in and out made a hair popping edge unable to cut some paper...

Get the BK14 and a custom kydex sheath and you'll love it !

See, I'm almost completely different. I love my 11. It is a perfect 3 finger knife. I don't use it to baton through cords of firewood, or cut a lawnmower in half, or anything like that. I use it as my go to utility blade and between the two holds I use it works perfectly. The way I hold is forefinger, middle finger, ring finger on the handle. Other hold is forefinger down the spine of the blade, middle/ring/pinky curled around the handle. It is actually my daily carry blade.

I have a 14 as well, it is almost a 4 finger handle... Almost. I'm beginning to actually prefer the 24 though.

I have the Izula as well, it's nice cause it's legal to carry in Chicago where almost NO knife is legal.

The Izula-II is better IMO. The blade is the same but the handle is a half inch longer.

Also though, you should check out Bryan Breeden (Yes I know, this is an old thread) he does a small neck knife for about $40 and it is great!

They're all good. I personally prefer the blade geometry on the Izula better. The Izula 2 really is better then all three though.

I've just ordered the Eskabar in D2 (BK24 or D'Eskabar by other names). This will be my first neck knife. I made my decision based on the extra length of the blade over competitors and the D2 steel. I own quite a few Doziers in D2 and they are great knives. Rarely do they have to be sharpened, I have had negligible rust problems (and I live in the sub-tropics), and I hate coated blades. I have never oiled my D2 blades. All I have ever done is clean and dry them after use. The only hiccup with the BK24 is that I believe I will have to use my dremel to make the zytel handles fit and my only reservation about this purchase is the shorter handle length compared to the Izula II. Buying from Australia, the BK24 and the Izula II are much the same price. I sometimes polish my blades to provide extra rust protection and I will probably try this with my BM24 when it arrives. I understand the Izula will shortly be out in stainless steel and that could be tempting.
