Esteem Grinder - Upgraded Platen group buy

We are up to 9 on the order list. One more and we can make it a go, after I get the rest of the quote back on the Rods/Block/Tapping/etc...

Anyone think a 3 inch wheel should be added into this design? I don't need it, but it shouldn't take much to add two more holes for the mount.

Anything else we are not thinking of?

Question on these...... are the platen frames machined flat or simply cut from the mill finished stock?

Looks like that makes me # 10.
1. Stainless preferably
2. Holes tapped
3. Mounting block and rods cut out and tapped
4. Quantity 1

Guys, I'm going to put this project on hold. I'm in talks to have these professionally made, which I am sure at this point it's the smarter move.
This means you'll be able to buy them, hopefully very soon. And they will be done right and the bugs worked out.
I used mine for a couple hours tonight and found only one miner bug that needs a tweak.
Otherwise it's a great design and is working very well. Everything I had hoped it would be.
Of course you are still free to make your own. That would probably be the cheaper method. But I totally trust the skills of the person I am talking with, and I am very sure it will be a stellar assembly.
I'm still not going to make any money on this, which is fine by me. I just wanted a better platen frame, and it's happening, for everyone who wants one. :)
Stay tuned, and I hope nobody is pissed about it.

Update: Brett of Esteem Grinders is going to produce this new design. Brett will be offering the complete platen assembly, with mount rods and all, ready to plug into your Esteem grinders and go.
In talking with Brett he mentioned several points that I hadn't even considered. Suffice to say what he produces will be far better than what I could put together.
Expected timeline is sometime end of march or so, but please reach out and contact him if you have particular questions. From what I understand the cost isn't going to be crazy.
For myself, the prices he was quoting wouldn't make me want to build it myself. And I've built one already.

I do want to thank everyone on the forum for their input on the design, and for the support. This turned out better than I had initially envisioned when I posted my 3am crude drawing and the credit goes to many here who chimed in with ideas and critiques.
I'll probably be posting some threads going forward about work rest adaptations and the like, so maybe this will become a cult. :)

Thanks everyone. Reach out to Brett!

Brock,
Thanks for handling this so well. It looks like everyone who buys an Esteem from now on may owe you a beer.
Since the purpose of this thread is done I will close it now. Any questions should be directed to Brett or Brock by email/PM/etc.
