Hello all. I have been out of the knife game for three years now due to some life setbacks. I want my life back so I am going to try and swing a grinder see after the new year. I previously owned 2 KMG and a TW 90. Having a TW90 makes it hard to go backwards but money is definitely an issue. The two grinders I have listed seem to be quite nice and much cheaper than the top dogs. If anyone has either of these machines. You thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Ive got a Pheer 409, and couldnt be happier with it. I have a 1.5hp motor with variable speed on it. If you have any questions call him, hes a super nice guy, I asked tons of questions when ordering. I dont really have anything negative to say about it except how the tensioner spring is set. I accidentally had the spring slip when tensioning a belt and smashed my fingers, but that was user error cus im an idiot sometimes. Overall for the price point on it its a super solid grinder. Ummm since the flat platen comes with the 2" aluminum wheels, i replaced the bottom with a rubber one after a few months. He uses KMG wheels all arround and i believe the small wheel attachment is also from them (dont quote me on this). Jose (the owner) is a super nice guy and he hooked me up when I got it. I took like 3 weeks to get here, the motor and VFD came within in a week first. My only issue when setting it up was I about crapped my self when i was wiring the power cord for the VFD. I dont know if this helped, if you got any specific questions i can try to give you more info.

Lots of threads on this subject, but I am very happy with my esteem. Pretty much a bader3 only "better". Karl Andersen got one and I think he prefers it to his Bader 3 (if I can speak for Karl).
Only think I don't LOVE is the rest. It's very adjustable, sometimes to much.

Thank you. Maybe Karl will chime in.

Looks like my first choice. I sent an email.

My Pheer works very well, and was a very good value.
