i love it, well balanced, solid feel, great construction, i wish i found it sooner, i spent alot more for some of my other hawks and this is right up there with them

Estwing also makes a small double bit. havn't tried one but would like to.

buzz

Not a machete, despite what Estwing says. Stupidly heavy, and the design is kind of an embarrassment. Note the raised lettering immediately behind the saw...not gonna' do much beyond shallow notching with it. Clearly designed by someone who understands neither machetes nor saws.

Looks like its cast from zinc.

I think it's more Estwing's take on an old-school survival knife. It is no doubt bomb-proof, and I would imagine would take some serious abuse and keep on trucking. But it does look too heavy, though I would need to hold one to confirm.

As for their hawks, good steel and USA made sounds great to me if I were more into them.

If Estwing would monitor or poll true users they might come up with some better designs. Personally Their latest are no-go's for me

I dunno this one i got is tough as nails, and a pretty practical design, i am currently coating it with Bed Armor , i think it will make it pretty tough, we will see
