I noticed that some of the new SS Etched dragonfly's seem to apear on Ebay and may b CCmembers
I like them a lot but my questions are:

-1 When will they be shipping to retailers after CC club members and also overseas?
_2 Is it true that the blade steel is upgraded for SS /Etched versions from AUS8 or was it ATS 55
into VG10?

thanx alot for the response:jerkit:

Difficult to tell. As far as I know, the CC#d ones have not yet shipped. The etched ones that have shown up on eBay so far are not numbered. It is possible they may reach European distributors before the club knives are shipped, since that has happened before.

No, it has not, blade steel on the etched SS D'fly, as on the plain version, is ATS-55.

All of the newer SS Dragonfly models are VG-10. Even the non etched ones.
Think you've been misinformed. According to the 2007 catalog, the photos posted by those selling the etched ones on eBay, and the online catalog listings of several dealers who are offering them - they are ATS-55. Also, again according to the 2007 catalog, steel remains ATS-55 on the plain SS D'fly as well.

Also the FRN model has VG-10??
No, FRN version is still AUS-8 and still uses the molded clip.

If engraving is severely backed up, production pieces will ship before CC pieces. It's not often, but it happens.

We ship overseas based on our distributors orders. Overseas orders are shipped daily. Have you checked with your Dutch Distributor?

There is nothing wrong with my eyesight.;) On the second picture you can cleary see the blade is marked VG10. That's the reason why i asked this the first place.

I think they updated the steel after the catalog was printed and they haven't updated the website. I have a plain edge non-etched SS dragonfly. It has VG-10 steel and a Spyder on the blade.

On the Spyderco website forum there are members who have posted pictures of both the plain SS dragonfly and the etched ones. Both show VG-10.
