That puts the 9 volt to shameI used a 2amp 12 volt power supply that usually runs my UHF radio. It was fairly sizzling. I'll attach a short video.

No, I never stripped the 6. Haven't used it that much, tbh.looks deepDid you ever strip the coating on your Rat 6 ? Just wondering if it still looked deep
The PCB gives a nice smooth surface looking at the result. It may be deep enough. 9v and saltwater gives fast results but not as smooth a surface. You don’t notice it unless you look up real close. But less than 1/2 hour both sides plenty deep. Maybe next time if you want a faster way

Your 18 looks Great![]()
I thought the same thing, that something weird was going on with the metal. I thought perhaps my eyes were deceiving me how deep it was, but I kept checking with a magnifying glass, and just didn't seem to do well. I wondered if the etchant goes bad after awhile? Wouldn't think so, but I've had it for years, plus, I had the bottle laying somewhat on it's side, in a tote, in a plastic bag. The acid ate the cork seal, and it leaked inside the bag. That's why the bottle is all yellow. The only explanation I can think of for the area with the weird etch is that there is an anomaly in the metal. Especially because the bluing wont stick. No telling how deep it goes.
I think it came out great. Love your name on the spine.
I just want to make sure that when I strip it, one of these days, the logos Ethan had lasered in will still show up.Careful not to etch too deep.....
I picked up a cool skull logo Junglas that was previously etched.
I get wood, and junk stuck in the logo, and words all the time
