Etching machine for titanium anodizing?

First , I am not an authority on electrical anything ! I can't explain any of the how or whys when it comes to the workings of the anodizer. I only know how to use the tool and have had excellent results with the unit I built from plans that were posted here several years ago (pic). The only thing different about my unit now and the pic is the addition of a multi-tester so that I can more closely monitor voltage output when anodizing

That being said, I believe the "dedicated unit" you reference will allow you to only anodize very small parts due to low amperage output. How small you say ? I can't answer that but remember someone here on BF mentioning problems due to the amperage issue for that exact unit. Here is a link to a good site with plans on how to make several different units, why it works & how it works http://mrtitanium.com/anodizers.html

And here is a link to a good site for supplies http://www.reactivemetals.com/ I highly recommend getting a gallon of "multi-etch" from them, it will make for much better results as far as colors you are able to obtain.

Give the search funtion a try, there must be a thousand threads specifically addressing your questions.
