I hope this is the correct place to post the following...

Post removed.

There is no correct place to post this type of thing on BFC.

Auction spotting is not allowed on BFC.

Sorry, now that I know I will not do it again.

P.S. I just checked the rules an found this; "No auction spotting. We don't care if you have something on ebay. Post a price and either raise or lower it."

Although it was in my original post, I just want to make it clear that those are NOT my auctions for the etchers (my ebay name is hephaestus61). I don't know the seller, have never dealt with him, and I can't vouch for him or for his machines. I saw the etchers for auction, they seemed to be going for a good price, and I thought someone here might be interested.

Ebay has a good searching feature and you can set up to automatically receive e-mail about things you're interested in. So, people looking for an etcher can easily find them yourself.

Posting eBay (or other auction or for-sale) links here is permissible if you are not the seller or shilling for the seller AND if your purpose is not just to point out the sale BUT is to discuss it for some reason other than just "here it is" or "this is a good price." You might ask, "Does anyone have experience with this etcher? Is it any good?"

Chuck,

Thanks for the clarification. At least I was okay on two out of the three factors. :o

With my second post I just wanted to make it clear that I was not trying to hawk my own auction or shill for someone else.

In case it's helpful to anyone, I own a Lectroetch V-10A myself, and it's a nice little machine. I think I like it even better than my Marking Methods Model 300.

Right. You also see "Is this fake?" or "What the heck is this?" ---particularly for some of the more humorous listings. I guess BFC could start a "ebay links here" forum but I don;t see much value to it. Some of the other online communities I visit allow it and it results in excessive clutter!
