Has anybody had a logo put on a 3"x7" or larger stencil for doing their own silk screening?

Seems to me like it would be pretty easy to do and I bet you could get a 8"x8" or so stencil made for a reasonable price and it would probably last for as long as you need to wear shirts.

Never used a stencil, but I've silk screened several shirts.
It's pretty easy to just run a copy on transperancy paper and use that to burn your screen.

I don't see the benefit of using a stencil. Once your screen is burned it'll last forever.

Etching stencils and silk screens are make from different materials. An etching stencil only needs to allow moisture and electricity to pass through. A silk screen is a tight weave material that allows thick "paint" to be forced through. Two different processes.

Thanks guys. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Now that I think about it, the silkscreen that I saw years ago did seem to have a coarser weave than etching screen and was probably sturdier material.
