Ive heard of people using vinyl stickers as etching stencils that are made from a sign shop...is there a difference between those and ones normall used? Or am i just confused...

The normal ones are not stickers. They are photo etched film. The actual "cut out" is actually very fine screen and it just lays on your piece when you etch.

Normally, stencils are made of special stencil material that is similar to a silk screen with resist on either side. The logo is photo developed onto the light sensitive resist coating and allows the logo area to be washed away leaving only the screen with surrounding resist coating. So the etching fluid and electric current pass through the screen and etch your mark while masking the rest.

Vinyl stencils are just vinyl to act as resist and no screen. Generally, they must be blockier and small letters don't work well as there is no way to create some of the letters using the cutters used for vinyl work. For instance, no way to have the hole in the top of an "A" or the hole in an "O".

True stencils are the way to go for detailed logos.

Here's a stencil I had made of vinyl early on in my making:

Here's my logo now:

You can get detailed logos with vinyl. Just use transfer tape to apply it, holes and all.

i just want something like this, does anyone on here make them or know anyone who will do them reasonably?

i want it about 3/4" x 1/2" maybe 5/8" by 3/8"...
