Etching vs Stamp

i was stencil etching, going over to a stamp...for what i do, and the style i wish to pursue a stamp is the only way (traditional fixed blades, i like the rough period feel to em). my mark isnt too intricate and it should look good punched onto the blades.

stamp is costing a bit though, $35 for the CNC program, and $120 for the stamp...then shipping.

I too like the traditional look of a stamp on a handmade knife. I find the etched marks make a knife look too much like it was produced in a modern factory, but that's just my opinion.

I used the same stamp to cold stamp more than a 200 blades in O1, D2, S0V, 440C etc without any noticable deteriotation in the stamp. Haven't tried the flex test but as far as I know, none of my blades have failed in normal use.

it would take alot more then that, workshop i was employed at i stamped probably 6000 x 4140 60mm shafts we were machining up and it was still going strong after i left (was a little worn, but still gave a good view of his shops mark.
