Alright kiddies, time to get this thing OFFICIALLY off the ground.

The details are being finalized, the pavillion is being built (no, I'm not kidding), and vegetarians, need not apply:D

The rundown works like this, I need a head count, to find out how much beef we will be needing and sleeping space. Don't worry, we gots plenty of both, I just need to know so we can figure out the last few strands of the frayed rope that is mine and Ethan's brain. I've been working on this for a while, and everytime me and E talk this through, he builds something new. Now, you get a pavillion.

So, here is the gist of the whole thread, I need to know if YOU WILL BE ATTENDING!!!

Don't BS me with I might, or don't know, I don't care or need that. What I need is I WILL BE ATTENDING. If you don't know, don't post up until you do. Simple. Hate to put it like that, but there you go. I also need to know how many you are bringing.

You don't have to be a Beckerhead to attend, you will be one leaving, so don't worry about it. If you want to come, signup.

Post up " I will be attending". As a special bonus, Ethan will be taking requests from those that will be in at the Gathering, for skills that you wish to learn. So, post that up as well. And please, lets not turn this into a discussion thread about skills, we can do that elsewhere. SO, if you want to learn something from The Man, let him know. These will be setup as a "class" type scenario.

In addition to the beef, Ethan's expertise, we will also be graced with some "special Guests". This year I hope to have in attendance:

Mr. Jerry Fisk, co designer of the BK5, which happens to be our focus BKT blade this year
Mr. Steve Johnson, designer of the JAB and many great custom knives
Mr. Official Ka-Bar, you might have seen some of his posts in the Ka-Bar Forum
Mr. Jeff Randall, he found out that we had free food, so, its gonna be hard to keep him away
Mr. Patrick Rollins, ESEE instructor, Police Lt., and generally a woodland badass

and Me. :D

These guests have said they will do their best to attend, but as of right now, no one has confirmed solid, so we are just waiting on the final confirmations. Hey, if none of them show up, at least you got me, right?:D Ethan lives there, so, we'll just wake his ass up when we get there.

Roughly 6 weeks away, time is moving fast, things are happening, if you're in, say so.

I am in. Me and the missus and last time I checked Pointy. And booze. Piles of it.

what's the best set of airports and other details for those who would have to fly in? mmm?

esp for the flying in, some might wish to mail artifacts ahead of time, as we all the know the TSA/homeland-security/etc are evil... EVIL !!!

other details that would be travellers would need to know?

McGhee/Tyson Airport (TYS) is the closest airport to Ethan's, and its still an hour from there.

Ethan's address will be emailed out to those that signup, via email (make sure it turned on) which is also the shipping address for artifacts.

Yar.

Allready packing trying to decide waht toys to bring and if its gonna be a hammock or tent weekend.

Sam, I think you just found your end-around on the Beckerhead thing. BTW, the pictures showed up and are great. Thanks.

Moose, just one for at least one night here. I think BH Gathering is not quite rated for my young'uns.

There will be a cutting contest for sure.....I really would like to do an EDC seminar with lots of input from you guys........I also think we are gonna have some kind of actual schedule......... Things Were fun last time but too loose to get all the things I had hoped to do, done.......

Had a planning session with Gilbert ( the guy who will be doing both the dozer work and pavillion building (I only get to run the dozer in large wide open spaces where the likelihood of damage is minimal and can be fixed easily).....Should be a big improvement over the spring shindig.....If we do not have several tons of fun then SHAME ON US...................

All Best.....

Just to let everyone know i spent the weekend doing recon on the gathering site grade work looks great and there will be plenty of room for tents and hammocks alike. The trees and local wildlife are starting to tremble at the thought of people and their trusty beckers will be invading.

Looking forward to it Sam. Mrs. T said to be sure and mace any cats that take up residence in the area.
