Ethan's june challenge discussion thread.

That's really cool. As a medic, is there any one item, like a triangular bandage, or anything from your experience, that you'd recommend everyone carrying?

Your level of training will dictate what you want to carry, and every time you learn something, it will change your first aid kits. Better than any single item is just getting more training, whatever your current level is. I'm always trying to add to my training, because that's what really provides the medical care. You can get a lot done with very basic stuff if you know what to do...

But the boy scouts had it right with the neckerchief (triangular bandage). With some imagination, it will do everything all the fancy modern stuff will do. Better yet carry several. I wear one around my neck and have at least one or two in pockets here and there.

holy hell i am glad i checked this out.
i am not really planning on entering, build 3? i just checked out the 2 i had and realized i didnt have a full kit between them
so went to CVS and picked up a bunch of stuff I needed (i believe) i feeling a little better about what i do have, now i just gotta -rebuild the kit and see what i have for a truck kit

ps the coleman first aid pack SUCKS- comes with a bunch of handwipes, bandaids and some creams (insect bite cream, 1 thing of poison ivy cream...did i mention bandaids) meh and thats about it

Dude, enter up. If you win you'll get a free knife sent to you from ethan. I look at it like, skills I want to learn anyway but for the chance of getting a free knife. pretty neat.

well i am not sure i am gonna be able to finish,
however the month isnt over yet, so that may change as circumstances evolve

i think i have enough for 2 kits now
and some ideas for the 3rd, but i need more bags/containers thats for damn sure

The trick with these contests is to do a little small thing everyday or every few days at least. The end of the month will sneak up on you quick and then of course NO time to get it done. I'm guilty of that. I'm really surprised more folks don't get in on these.

Congrats to the winners! Glad to hear what the boss thought of our ideas.

I think this is last years "June discussion" thread. Anyways....... no matter.

Congrats to the winners, cool stuff fellas!

Ha, I think you are right! Lemme go find the correct one.
