That's really cool. As a medic, is there any one item, like a triangular bandage, or anything from your experience, that you'd recommend everyone carrying?
Your level of training will dictate what you want to carry, and every time you learn something, it will change your first aid kits. Better than any single item is just getting more training, whatever your current level is. I'm always trying to add to my training, because that's what really provides the medical care. You can get a lot done with very basic stuff if you know what to do...
But the boy scouts had it right with the neckerchief (triangular bandage). With some imagination, it will do everything all the fancy modern stuff will do. Better yet carry several. I wear one around my neck and have at least one or two in pockets here and there.
