"Eureka Cattle Knife" by Enrique Pena

Steven, on the Lannys Clip, it is fairly thick stock on the blade, with that, the inside will look very clean without the relief, and he is jeweling the liners for me. Basically just a cleaner overall appearance inside the liners. Kris

Jeweled(engine turned) liners is nice, not something I'm used to seeing on a slipjoint...that should look sweet.

I still like the mill relief for myself, and will probably request that on the stockman.

Gonna keep Elliott's pen blade as that is more useful than a spey, imo.

I coulda had it already.:(

It's worth waiting for...imho. I think you'll agree when you get yours.

Very nice Elliott, of course. I have Enrique making me a stag Lanny's Clip with washers and no mill relieving due in Feb. as you probably already know. Beautiful and functional knives. Thanks for posting your fine pics Elliott.

Kris

You're welcome, Kris. I love good stag so that'll be a beauty...but when I saw the shade and jig of the bone on mine it just knocked me the hell out. (And still does.) I'll look forward to seeing yours.
The "Lanny's" is a great pattern.

I've even got a piece of Enrique's jigged bone on one of Jerry's knives. LOL!

STeven, in keeping with the stockman theme, have a look at some of these...

You have a fantastic collection of slipjoints, I know those are just part of it. Simply stunning.

Thank you, STeven. The link to my images is the "home page" listing in my profile. You can have a look through whatever I have up there at your leisure. It's divided up into albums though not all the images are worthy of the knives displayed.

You're welcome, Kevin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Enrique makes some very beautiful knives. Congrats on all of those Elliott!

I am personally a real sucker for cattle knives and also a big fan of the Eureka frame so this one really appeals to me. It really gives me the itch to build a 3-blade soon. :)

Thanks, Jared, and since we've already discussed this idea, please don't let me stop you! ;)

I love Pena's knifes.

He really does something with his jigging that works with me. Symmetrical or random jigging. he just has a knack.

I have to agree. In the relatively short time that he has been dyeing and jigging bone, he has produced some of the nicest examples out there. The mechanics and actions on his knives are first rate as well. (Think Rogers & Kawamura by way of example.)

These knives are gorgeous. I know very little about slip joints but Enrique's knives seem to just stand out. I was looking at the other threads with different kinds of slip joints from many makers but my eyes keep going to Enrique Pena's folders.

Robb, I'm a bit biased toward the work of certain makers and Enrique's work is (imho) amongst the best. That said, there are quite a few whose work is absolutely stunning and first rate.
Many are the big names that many are already familiar with, and some are the younger guns making their way up the food chain.

Why James, whatever do you mean? (In best Val Kilmer as "Doc" Holliday voice)

I hope this doesn't mean you'll think less of me. :p

Not hardly. I just felt compelled to point it out, since you and your enabling ways have affected my collecting in the past.

Well, James, you know what they say..."we're (formerly) from the government and we're here to help." ;)

:p
