Firstly - I searched for old threads regarding the Eureka Jack, Talon, etc. A lot of the pictures were missing from those threads.

What I would like to see from this thread is pictures of any Eureka patterned knife, new or old - so - if ya got em - please post em. ;):D

For a long time, I had admired the pattern and always planned to get one, but, something else distracted me or caused me to go down some other path.

In particular, the GEC 92 Talon with Che Chen Rosewood and the JBF Champlin limited run knives appealed to me.

Yesterday, a new in the tube GEC Talon with Che Chen Rosewood and cloud shield made it's way to me.

I was simply stunned by it's remarkable beauty, right out of the tube. The workmanship on this particular knife was near flawless in every way. Pretty unbelievable that a factory made knife could be so close to perfect. Even the wood grain flowed perfectly with the elegant lines of this pattern. I have seen some very high end custom knives appear not as well finished as this knife. The threaded bolsters, tight fitting handles, centered blade, centered and flush shield, smooth pull, and nicely done etches really impressed me - may be the best made knife that I own.

This was my first Northfield that actually has the advertised mirror polished blade.

The only thing that I did not like a lot was the light 03 stamp or engraving on the mark side bolster. I remedied that in about thirty minutes time, much to my liking.

One of twenty five Northfield 92 in Che Chen Rosewood:

But be aware that if you post up a JBF Champlin Rosewood, you might have a PM from me in your future. ;):D

So - let's see what you got, if you will. :)

I really like the 92 frame pattern and expect to get a Eureka some day. But that spear is terrific looking. hmmmm

My Talon is next to some reddish rosewood on a headphone. Just love the sway of the blade back when it is closed. The frames curves make for a nice fit in hand.

Looks great with the Wharncliffe blade Steve !:)

The blade on my spear point reminds me of the old style Cattaraugus blades.

When I opened the tube of this Northfield Eureka a couple of years ago, I remember thinking: THIS is what GEC is all about.

I'm especially drawn to the simplicity, elegance and beauty of the Talon...

Fantastic Oldie there Gevo!

Long overdue thread to my mind, thanks for the initial startup Primble, the Eureka has a massive amount of carry charisma in all its forms. I don't have a Spear Talon like that, I dithered too long and missed the bus. I had a Talon Wharncliffe but sold it to a Forumite in Denmark back in autumn.

Here's my Smoothie Jack

The Tidioute Eureka two blade in ebony has more pocket time than any other knife I own. It just feels right!
