I'm kinda into knives so i went looking around i own a couple (mostly are my dad's) ranges from tanto fixed blade to a randall bowie and a camillus knife (the marine style knife)

I was shopping for a jacket for my girlfriend in an adventure store when i came across a leatherman C33L wich i bought. I was still waiting on my Emerson CQC8 wich should be arriving this month maybe the next one (the wait was 18 weeks they told me). So my dad sharpens his knives by hand although he get's awesome sharp results he can only sharpen is in a straight narrows with the edge itself and thus not really sharpen it under angle (well it's always an angle only his is really steep (get my drift?). So then i started watching knife reviews and came across nutnfancy awesome reviews i watched a bunch of them. But i also came across Jankerson1 's vids and him using the Edge pro... so i ended up buying that and it works GREAT i did some of my herbertz knives and i also touched up the leatherman wich was already really sharp. I just ordered me a 950 rift from benchmade i wanted to check out the axis lock, and i pre ordered the ZT0550 cause i just love the way it looks. So after all that i finally felt like i could post something worthwhile after reading this forum for some time now.

I'll try uploading pics if the other knives arrive.

Any thought or comments? Keep it civil :p

I will say, you do sound enthusiastic! :)

You do have a good variety of gear to work with. I moved this from Traditional because we discuss older styles of knife there, mostly slip joints, Opinel style knives, -- not tactical.
 
I had my eye out for them :) cept maybe the rift but i wanted an axis lock to see how i would like it and i like the rift :)

The Rift is probably the best Benchmade in the catalog. If I only could have one EDC knife, then the 950 Rift would be it.

I really like the look of the Rift, but haven't been able to "fondle" one. I sure wish they would do like Spyderco does - making the clip for tip-up AND tip-down carry.
 
You are going to enjoy both the Benchmade and the ZT 550. I have a ZT 551 and it is GREAT and ROCK SOLID! You will also love the Axis Lock because it is smooth as silk to open and close. You are getting off to a good start with some real nice knives. GOOD LUCK! Kevin :thumbup:

any thoughts on the Emerson though ?

About the Rift i found it the prettiest BM i found on knifecenter :)
i was looking out for an 805 but they seem to be discontinued...

mystro it's funny i ordered the exact same one :D can't wait to get my hands on that puppy!

Check out some reviews on YouTube. I have only owned one Emerson, but I love it so far.
 
You picked a winner with the CQC-8, its one of my personal favorite folding knife designs.
 
My CQC8 finally arrived !!! I'm gone this weekend so i'll have to upload some eyecandy some other time. It arrived about 4 months overdue but hey good things deserve a wait and customs had a bit of a long look at it and it cost me another 130 dollars to get it into my hands for customs handling.

but it's here and it's a beast :) lock up is super solid is nicely centered and it's just all round perfect hair shaving sharp!

It has sompe weight to it but it feels solid that way I don't see this ever failing on anyone anytime soon !

Now all that needs to arrive is the Benchmade 950 rift and the ZT 0550 !
