Evangelism pays off

Kaizen1,

One thing I noticed in the picture is that no one is wearing shoes. I'm just curious.

Looks like they are indoors and I see some sort of tatami mat or something similar. Wearing shoes would be a bad idea. Asian household, perhaps?

The same kind of experience can be demonstrated with other gadgets, like flashlights. Few folks think they need to carry a flashlight with them 24/7, but if they try it for a few days they often come to the conclusion that they can't live without it. Thats how we end up with pockets full of knives and lights, and maybe a Sharpie, a multitool and a gun for good measures. We try it for a while and then don't want to give it up.

I'm just saying.

And this is why labeling people as whatever is not a good thing. I hope you learned something from this

maybe should have headed the clear warning.

The discussion of politics and political leanings or agendas are not welcome in the general forum and that is clearly stated in the stuck thread at the top.

We have a forum for that type of discussion.

It should not be that difficult for a reasonable person to understand.

Sorry about that, won't happen again

at one point he made a comment like "well since we are in Virginia and knife laws allow these kind of things I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to trying to have one around the house" so I gave him an old Maxam linerlock I had laying around, and gave it to him.

Good story, it's always nice when people are open minded enough to try things instead of just arguing back and forth about it. also, that's really cool of you to give him a knife to try out.

I don't know what he's talking about though Southern California laws are really unrestrictive as far as knives go. but i guess most people don't really know knife laws down here.

Precisely, knives can be used as weapons, much like anything else can.
When people start realizing that they use sharp instruments all day and have to go searching for them, they may as well keep them in their pockets.

haha. way to list the contents of my pockets.

I think that labeling people is a swell idea. Just not on Bladeforums.

Let me repeat myself since it seems the first warning was not quite clear enough for some.

Take the politics and group label discussion where it belongs.

We were in a sushi restaurant. I think the guys just wanted to be respectful to the place since there were about 30 people walking around most of the time between the 3 tables we had. The area we were in was seperate from the rest of the restaurant and it's the only section with the tatami mats.
