Anyone ever have their Evenheat just stop heating?
All of the controls work, digital readout, programmer, etc. The elements just won't get hot!
I heated the oven up to full heat treating temp, and went uptown for a cup of coffee to let the oven get ALL warmed up. When I came back home, it was down to 900 degrees, and nothing I do will get the elements to heat back up!
I'm trying to get knives for Atlanta made up herem and I can't think of a worse situation to occur right now.
Anyone familiar with this scenario?

check the continuity of the coils Karl. If they are good ie. show that there is continuity, then check the solid state relay.

What is the "element" ? That's not the actual coils is it? Where can I find the element incase I experience the same thing some day! Thanks in advance!

So have any of you actually changed the coils on a 27" inch or longer Evenheat Kiln? Or do you all mainly use the 13.5 inch models? Thanks!

Mine is an 18 inch. I have a buddy sort of close that has changed them out before.
You can bet I'll be calling on him to come over!
At first glance, it doesn't look as if it's all that difficult.
I might take some pics in progress.

i think with anything coil like, i'd have to wonder how far to pull each each of coil to make sure there was enough! or not too much and have a bunch left over! :D

When I saw this post, that what I was thinking that happen to the element. Sorry to hear that. But its know big deal you can replace it and it will be like new. :o
