EvenHeat kh18 trouble

I've mentioned it seems to take my oven longer than it should to heat up. I have the KF18, 240 vac, with 3120 watts as shown on controller label. I'd sure love to have the new LB18 with 3600 watts and no heating coils at rear.

I've always used 2 firebrick in the oven to raise blades up close to tip of TC which is mounted in top of oven but this does slow heating. The first set of times is with the 2 firebricks in place and I'm pretty sure using the original TC which puts the tip (active part) up closer to top of oven.

EvenHeat oven temperatures and times w/2 firebrick in oven.
20 min = 1050°F
38 min = 1330°F
50 min = 1500°F
80 min = 1825°F
100 min 1975°F

Today I removed the first brick and used a longer TC of same design as original with #8 AWG TC and ceramic spacers over the wire. This puts the TC tip down close to oven floor so it's about from oven floor. I'm thinking I should have left the original TC in to be sure any differences were not due to TC change.

EvenHeat oven temperatures and times NO firebrick in oven.
20 min = 1235°F
35 min = 1550°F
50 min = 1775°F
60 min = 1885°F
65 min = 1950°F
69 min = 1975°F

I'm thinking I should have left the original TC in to be sure any differences were not due to TC change.
You could repeat the test with the brick and the new TC. This way, only one variable changes and you should get close to the old times.

To follow up on my previous post about times to temperature on EvenHeat oven. I put 2 firebrick in oven with the new TC and got about the same times as with 2 firebrick and old TC. So, it's the firebrick in oven that causing heatup to take so long. I think I'll leave firebrick out of oven with new TC so the tip will be down at the blades.
