Anybody know the cheapest place to order one shipping included?

Thought someone might have bought one recently and can save me some phone calls.

James seems to have cheapest advertised price but I haven't checked shipping yet.

Correction - it was 1105, I checked the wrong shipping option.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to Check the accuracy of the temperature?

You can get several thermocouples to independently measure the temperature and then analyze the distribution.

If you need a quick and dirty way, set the temperature to below the melting point of a pure metal, and place that metal inside some container in the kiln. Slowly increase the temperature until it starts to melt. Shield it from direct radiation though.

Thanks,

Turns out it's out of stock so I'm waiting 3 to 4 weeks for it to ship from the factory. Bummer

I went with jantz, a kf18 with standard controls was 1125 to my door.

There still may be someplace cheaper with shipping but I didn't shop around a lot.
By standard controls, do you mean the Set Pro control which I think is the base unit that Jantz carries?

reconfirm this because i read it online, and i do not remember where... table salt melts at 1400F. you can use it to check accuracy.

Yes, the base unit, I couldn't remember what they were called when I posted.

That's what I was thinking about, the best process i could come up with, since you can't see through the door, is to start maybe 30 degrees below the target, let stabilize, Check, bump up 10 degrees, let stabilize, check until melted.

I assume there is some temp difference between the top and bottom of oven so I want to know the actual temp vs. the displayed temp at the exact place the blade will be, so does my test seem sound?

Seems ok to me.
