Events in the DC Area?

Are there any hammer-ins (or anything for that matter) scheduled in the DC area around late July/August. I will be stuck there for those six weeks without the ability to do much knive making. Would love to find somthing going on out that way. It would also be nice to meet some East Coast makers as well. I'll have wheels and enjoy driving out that way (love the green stuff!) and will have weekends off. Thanks in advance!!:)

Dang....you think big! All I was going to pack was a file and a wire brush!!!
 
I am up here in Mass. On Saturday's there are people in and out all day:D.
Pick a Saturday and I'll have a Mini-Hammer In. A week from today I am have 38 people over for a HI.:cool:
 
Contact Deker. He is in MD and there are several events in your area.
You just missed the "Fire and Brimstone" hammer-in. The Blacksmiths Days is May 16-17.

Sadly, the best event in the DC/MD area was the Moran Hammer-in, which died with its namesake.

Thanks for all the infomation and the offers. I reside in Las Vegas but will be there on business for the last two weeks of July and all of August. I would be very greatful to watch some blades being forged to pick up some tips. I have a few blades profiled out but need help with the bevels and general finishing. I don't know of any forgers here in Las Vegas. But being able to see it done would be very helpful!

IG...Thank you, I may reach out to you when I get out East. That would be great, quite a drive though. Seems I remember you saying Tucson was in your future. Is that still likely? I travel there some as well.

Thanks for all the help you experienced guys give us. I know we lean on you all quite a bit. But what it does for me atleast and probably many others, is give us a chance at possibly being able to make a decent knife in our lifetime.

The intent is still to move out there.:thumbup: I have to wait till the housing market picks up around here.:jerkit:;) I do not think it will be this year.:(
