Cant say I was ever robbed of my knife but I was robbed carrying my knife. Once in Chicago. No weapon was shown but the person who relieved me of my cash was definatly willing to bash my poor head into the concrete. I gave him the $15 some assorted dollars I had in my front pocket from the bar. I had an italian switch blade in my same pocket. I deceided to keep it there.
then dog gone it all not two months after I was mugged again. This time in a rest area on I 70 just west of Indy. This time I was better prepared and produced my Gerber Mark I from my shoulder holster. It is a wicked impressive knife and an old favorite of mine from the early days of my knife collecting career. THe would be mugger backed down completly and I escaped to my car. Once I drove away I realized how incredibly stupid pulling a dagger on someone actually was. This mugger might have had a gun. or been blasted on crack etc. the worst could and should have happened but it didnt. My advice is unless you fear for you life I would hand over the cash. and be done with it.
