Ever buy a Knife because it was...gods forgive me...cute?

I got my RD-4, my first custom, because I thought it was cute...

Now it is one mean sonofabitch! :D

I will be 50 next year so yes, I do remember that era.

I do consider looks when buying knives but I also think utility first....till now. I bought the turtle based on looks first, figured I would find a way to utilize it later. I have a very nice sterling and scrimshawed ivory money clip as well as a CRTK K.I.S.S. that works as one as well. I don't wear a necklace so that leaves just the pocket knife aspect. Would make for a nice watch fob tho.....mmmmm

I know exactly what you mean. And - if I can turn just one non-knife person (young, old, male, female, alien...) into a knife person by baiting them with 'cute' - it was a good day!

Nice thing about the turtle...changing scales is very easy. I can easily see doing scales in various colors and materials so the GF can wear it as a necklace with any outfit. I have a couple different color pieces of mammoth tooth hanging around, some nice burl wood, would even look nice with a slightly reshaped silver reale.

I completely forgot about my Languiole Bee...probably because my daughter claimed it as hers the day after it arrived. It is a cute thing as well.

I guess you could say I bought as couple of the Spyderco Mini-Police Necklace knives because they were "cute". (well cute, and the fact that it was actually a "real" knife with titanium handles and an ATS-34 blade.)

Cute???? OK - you are allowed one momentary lapse in reason (and you just used it up!!)......

I bought my girl a rainbow Chive 'cause it was "cute". She liked it so much I bought her a rainbow Leek, but seriously that thing is just sexy...

I got this little bitty caribbean blue Case Stockman that people think is cute. Come to think of it it is kinda sheeple-soothing.;)

I've been on the lookout myself for one. The Red Leatherman C2 was close enough that I could pass mine to my now fiancee (who is rather squeamish about sharp things). But my cute-detector needs some work. I tried to claim that the CRKT Koji Hara was cute, or at least pretty, no dice.

I have not, but let me know how that Ashworth turtle works out. I've had my eyes on that thing and kind of like it.

Yeah. I always wanted a Puma 'White Hunter'... it looked neat. Last fall, I saw a friends like new older unit - with sheath - in LN condition. My wife shocked me - and bought it! I really liked the Buck Vanguard - neat shape - very neat with the black coated S30V blade in their Cabela's only 'Alaskan Guide' variant. Over a year ago, found myself drooling over the knife on the '07 Buck Knife catalog's cover. I just had to have one... no matter the price - it was really beautiful! It was fall before it became available - and I got one, after pestering some dealers incessantly for months. Brass, rosewood, and the upswept S30V full tang blade - nice+++. I am fortunate to have been able to acquire the knives I have thought were 'neat' - or 'cute'. They certainly weren't dimunitive, if that is a requirement of cute!

I am currently using it as my money clip knife and giving my CRKT K.I.S.S. a vacation. The blade was shaving sharp from the factory and I have used for opening packages. It has also cut some 3/8 inch rope. It's performance so far has been great, for a short blade it has nearly as much belly as length and seems to cut very well.
