I'm no hunter, I don't EDC a fixed blade, health concerns will likely keep me indoors for 4-6 months, I usually prefer fairly spartan and utilitarian fixed blades, and it really is out of budget right now, but damn...that White River Fisk Classic Sendero. That looks like a blade I would strap on to walk the dogs just to have the pleasure of it on my hip.

Makes me understand far more why guys step up to the custom plate.

I'm sincerely hoping my recovery coincides a bit with my birthday, as this could be my present to myself.

Anyone else have a blade that hits them like that?
 
Actually, that same blade. Fisk is a genius and this may be the closest I get to one of his actual blades.
 
Man, I feel your pain. Just feel fortunate that the knife you are lusting after actually exists. I'm lusting after two that either don't yet exist/may never exist, or are no longer in production and hard to find. The one I REALLY want is a Spyderco Manix 2 XL in S110V/Blurple G10. I'm hoping they decide to make it, but I haven't seen any definitive evidence to say so yet. I'll be sick if they don't. I also really want the same Manix 2 XL in S90V/Carbon, but it was a sprint run and is tough to find.

Yeah, much as I deny having one, a Fisk custom Sendero might accurately represent a grail for me. I'll likely never own one, but the White River version...well, maybe I'll see if I can sell off a few things and snag that surrogate.

Thanks, man! I actually feel pretty darn good right now, but my doctors have assured me that they'll take care of that. ;)

And, yeah, with the man himself saying to go out and beat this thing, that adds to the appeal.
 
Lol!!! I used to make fun of my grandfather when he would tell me to stay away from doctors!!! He was even more correct than he knew!!!

PS.....I see you mentioned your dog. I was in a similar situation just about 2 years ago....fell off a roof and destroyed bottom 3 vertabrea. Lotta effing fun that was!!!
My sons brought home a 10 week old magnificent German Shepherd.......that little shit brought me back!!
Amazed how much joy they bring us!

When it comes to knives, oh yes, I feel the lustful pull of the Darkside quite often... ;)
It's usually with Swords or big knives, and especially in the BF knife maker's for sale area and the Busse Sub. There was a Damascus sword for sale a week ago in the knife maker's forum... Swoon! And, Busse's Operation Two Weeks is keeping me in debt for the next year! :eek:

I'd tell you to run, but it's too late... You're hooked too! :p
 
There are so many knives that I want SO BADLY and cannot justify owning.

My true lusts are: a CRKT large fixed Razel, a Cold Steel Black Bear Classic, a Spyderco Wilson Southfork, a Spartan V-14, and any number of Big Chris choppers and bushcraft knives. I want them, but they have no place in my life and I like to at least pretend that I'm not a collector.

I feel your pain. The Manix 2 XL is the workhorse of my collection and I'd love a blurple S110V version.
