Ever Come Down With a Bad Case of Lust?

Insipied, if you do get one, send it to me and I will put my convex edge on it.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
That would probably pull me over the edge as well.

Think you'll love that knife when you get it. More so because of Mr Fisks' involvement.

Smoke and prayers for your health IM!

If you are looking for a Fisk designed blade that is in a lower price bracket I would recommend the Ka Bar BK15 or the larger BK5.

That Sendero looks amazing! Looks like another one to add to the 'list'!

I feel ya on the bad case of blade lust. A Spyderco Manix in s110v, ZT 0804, and a few handmade's are currently begging me to buy them. The waiting game until the funds in the budget become available is the bad part!

Necroing this thread. Been through hell and back with even more medical issues since I posted this, but even though I'm still in treatment I feel well enough to start getting out into the outdoors more often and, combined with some knife legality changes in my state, have got me doing some fixed blade EDC. Well, I had a rough few weeks with a cat passing (he was an old man that led a full life) and friends and relatives getting sick, so I finally fulfilled a promise I made myself eight years ago. And Jerry Fisk is STILL a goddamn genius and one of the real inspirations of my knife journey, so here's my latest acquisition. Better late than never. 😉

Burlap and a 5v upgrade even. Congrats!

Saweeeeeeet! Damn, that’s a nice knife Richard. Gonna send it to Jerry for that edge work?
Ha, I feel a little bad trying to cash in a promise that's eight years old! Especially since it doesn't look like he's been on here in a couple years! Though I will say, he not only offered in the thread, he reached out and made sure I knew the offer was legit. The man isn't just a living legend for his skills, IMO, but for being a class act all around! Right now I'm working out sending it off to Horsewright Horsewright to get some new pants! (Just for info, the factory sheath is actually VERY nice, but I want something for horizontal cross draw)

I betcha he’d still do it! Mr. Fisk is a man of his word. I think I have his email addy kicking around somewhere… Lemme see if I can dig it up.

That thing is gonna be killer in a leather rig! Hot damn, please post photos.

I'm no hunter, I don't EDC a fixed blade, health concerns will likely keep me indoors for 4-6 months, I usually prefer fairly spartan and utilitarian fixed blades, and it really is out of budget right now, but damn...that White River Fisk Classic Sendero. That looks like a blade I would strap on to walk the dogs just to have the pleasure of it on my hip.

Makes me understand far more why guys step up to the custom plate.

I'm sincerely hoping my recovery coincides a bit with my birthday, as this could be my present to myself.

Anyone else have a blade that hits them like that?
In August I went to a knife show. I had no intention on buying a fixed blade, let alone spending major cash for a one off custom. I saw this fixed when I first got there, and for some reason, I had to have it. I'm not really an outdoorsman, I'm not into bushcraft. However as my niece and nephews are getting old enough, I wanna take them camping like I did growing up, and it's the perfect multi purpose camp knife. It's the last fixed blade I will probably ever buy.

I also have a Becker BK-5 that was sharpened by Jerry Fisk. I gave it to my father a few years ago, only been used once, by my ex to bifurcate a large spider. After he passed, I found it hanging in his workshop. I don't think he ever used it.

I am here to confess. I had a terrible lust, mindless and powerful, for the Katsu FA01. I saw her in an Instagram video, looking elegant in dark steel and carbon fiber. Her deployment was smooth, kinetic. I had it bad. I called my knife buddy and begged him to talk me out of it. Like any good knife buddy, he did not. Watched a few reviews, took a cold shower, tied the wallet to an angry cat. Thankfully, the next morning, I came to my senses. I have not posted a picture here, as perhaps I can escape the judgement of my peers. "Katsu? Decent Japanese brand, nothing to be ashamed of...." There is the finest of lines between cool and goofy.
