Like the SE blades but not with the serrations? I bet it would be a cuttin fool. Sure be easy to sharpen.
:)

The angle on the Emersons is far less acute than a ..say.. Native.

I know my serrated Native (and serrated Delica) are the easiest knives I own for sharpening.

Would removing the serrations make it any harder to sharpen? Same angles, just no cuts in it.

It would doubtless be easier to sharpen without the serrations. You can do the same thing with any plain edge blade by sharpening on one side only until the edge bevel is gone from the back side. Like any other chisel grind, I suppose it is okay, as long as you like to cut in a circle. Personally, I hate chisel grinds, and I'm not too fond of serrations for the same reason - I don't need to cut circles very often.

The Benchmade Instigator is a real nice chisel grind blade, and an absolute bargain. It's a single skeletonized piece of AUS 8.

Very, very sharp out of the box.

Another PE chisel grind is the Beretta Warren Thomas Avenger in VG-10.
Made in Seki City, Japan, this is the sharpest knife I have.

(And I've got quite a few knives...;))
