Ever feel guilty carrying a different brand?

There are a select few brands that have earned my loyalty as a customer. I try to buy from them, exclusively, when it comes to production knives.

There are a couple of brands that I'm not thrilled about supporting because they've down some things that I find dishonorable as companies. I own a knife that I really love by one of those companies, and i do feel kind of guilty when I carry it.

There is also another knife that I really, really love by a different company that I also don't want to support, but I can barely resist buying it because I love the knife.

I often have a tough time deciding which knives will join me for the day. Once I clear that hurdle, I'm good. Its not a major dis to the blades I leave at home, more like a day off for them.

My only problem is form carrying one knife to long and then be confused when its a totally different knife or if its not there.

Which companies and what knives? (unless its private)

Kudos for not mentioning the Companies and inciting a flame war.

See above. ;)

Not loyal to any brand however, there are a couple of brands I won't buy from.

I tend to give my dollars to companies that exhibit some sort of honor and integrity.

I know how you feel, I carry a knife for about 3-5 years before I move on. I recently bought my first Benchmade and I feel a little wierd leaving my old knife behind, but, I really like my Benchmade and wish i would have bought one sooner.

As some as said I have my preferred brand, but I carry different brands, I don't care about politics in the knife industry I care about the quality of the product I'm purchasing, I own knives from several different companies, and I don't feel guilty about it.

You won't know and appreciate what you really like until you've tried out a few different brands.

The Knives of Bob Dozier, Bark River, BlackJack's Classic Series, Spyderco, Fiddleback Forge, Koyote Knives, Stephen Fowler, and knives of my own creation are the ones I use the most.

If there's a common denominator, it's that they're all Home Grown.

God bless the USA.

Nope. Don't particularly care who made it or where it was made as long as it has a combination of properties I like. That being said, there are companies owned by or affiliated with people that irritate me and I stay away from them. There are also a few brands that have had enough quality control issues that I am very cautious when buying any of their products. Bottom line is brand loyalty really pays off, but only for the brand not so much the consumer.

I don't have any particular brand loyalty, but there are some brands I buy more of (and recommend to others more) because I like their designs and am willing to pay at their price points. I have 5 knives that collectively cover the majority of my EDC use, and there are 4 different brands among those.

I have a few favorite companies but I purchase from many others as well. If I like it, I buy it. That simple :)
