Ever find a gem on BUDK?

I've bought these giant folders for my younger cousins in the past...they loved them :D

But for me, I've actually picked this thing up to keep by the nightstand...no complaints.

Although I have had my eye on this sweet looking thing for walks around the neighborhood

Holy crap. That is a huge folder. I am actually digging that spiked Polypropylene Night Watchman mace. I may buy one now.

I know most people will poke fun at this thread and post the most mall ninja-y stuff there is out there. And in truth, easily 80%+ of the stuff Budk sells is garbage.
Remember, OP, that the audience here on Bladeforums follows a particular persuasion when it comes to knives, and especially shady CHINESE knives. But, BUDK is what I consider the gateway drug for non-knife people to transition into becoming knife people.

But there are some, somewhat "exclusive" brands they hold that they have been working at upping the quality on, at least to the point that they are generally on par with most other Chinese production knives.

Look for products labeled:
Kissing Crane - Traditional patterns, somewhat rough ryder level of quality. I love the trappers they produce.
Honshu - Variety of larger fixed blades, mostly "based" on historical patterns. Swords, etc. Some folders.
M48 - Tactical zombie apocalypse stuff, as silly as they look, the physical construction of these items are solid, if not the fine details.
Contender - Modern folders, look like they are rebranded stuff like you might see on Aliexpress. No experience here, but they have that Chinese OEM look to them.

I recently picked up an M48 Folder, a big Chungus of a knife primarily so I could make an informational video about it on my channel. While it is not perfect, it is a functional, solid knife. Taste notwithstanding.
Is it worth the money they charge for it? No... but if the style floats your boat, you will still have a functional and perhaps useful knife.

To answer the Op's question, no. However, this is the most interesting thread I have seen about the Bud.
Well being the same knives and questions get discussed due to over 25 years of this site existing. thousands of members, on top of almost every question or post asked on knives that has ever existed. To the point to where it can be very hard to make an interesting post that has not already been posted.

I take your comment as a compliment. And I am surprised a few folks have fond some knives that can be considered gems.

Bought this at least 15 years ago at a Gun show for $25. Back side labeled. BK1079, Stainless Steel, Handmade in China. Used it once to chop through fallen trees that hit my deck in a wind storm. No Problem.
