Ever find a knife?

Hey Rich, that was really cool finding 4 knives like that. But you'd think that after losing one that way, you'd learned your lesson!

Once while climbing a mountain in Utah I lost a Gerber Mark 1 in waist-deep snow. The next summer my brother found it. Blade is now nicely pitted, but I still have it.

Went camping as a kid and while digging a trench around my tent I dug up an old Victorinox camper (i think). It was missing one of the red scales but in decent condition. Half way throught the trech I dug up the missing red scale :> I cleaned it up and ended up supergluing the scale in place, later using epoxy. That must have been 20 years ago. While deployed to Hatai I found a crusty bayonet with the wire cutter shear on the scabbard. Tip was broken off and it was deeply pitted and covered in rust. After making it home I took a wire wheel to it and buffed it out, ground a new tip and now keep it in the shed for yard work. Still has the little red star imprint on the plastic scabard and some form of mid east writing etched into the back of it..

When my son was about 6 or 7 he spotted a sheath knife by the side of the road as he road home from school on the bus. When I got home he told me and we drove to the spot and found an old Marbles hunting knife in original sheath...condition very good. He loved that knife and still misses it. It was stolen during a burglary of our home a few years back. Easy come. Easy go.
