Ever get an itch to buy a traditional knife that isn't 'You'?

I just ordered a Vic Climber today. I even posted in that SAK enamoring thread just yesterday about how I didn't appreciate SAKs, and then I go and buy my first Victorinox SAK. I guess the thread peaked my interest. Plus, I'm hoping that it has better F&F and function than my Colonial SAK Pioneer look-a-like.

I like to vary the menu and the diet, to an extent.

I've got this Shatt&Morgan English Jack. FAR TOO BIG for pocket carry, 4.5" and heavy, huge Master Sheepsfoot, not a lot of use in it, and some issues with raised spring...But, had to have it and don't regret it either:thumbup:

I think that acrylic on the Hogan is EXCELLENT, wish they'd do some smaller knives in it.

I feel urges coming on again::D:eek: there's this GEC 54 Moose with slant bolsters in some green acrylic, the colour is excellent but I KNOW the knife is too big for my carry, nevertheless....

I'm not big on whittlers, but I traded into a nice Northfield half whittler iwith some nice bone scales. Other than the logo shield on one side, I really like this knife, and have been carrying it since I got it.

I just had a weird epiphany. I have only BOUGHT 1 traditional knife. I have 4 that were gifts from my in-laws, 4 that were wins in drawings (2 drawings, 3 came together), 2 I found in the inventory at work for use and 2 other gift knives.

The only knife I intentionally bought was the 2011 BFC Traditional.

Now, Wants are another thing, altogether. I find myself wanting a GEC French Kate, for some odd reason. Don't see myself actually handing over the money, but I can't deny the want.

About a year ago I saw this crazy thing for sale (below) and I just could not take my eyes off it. It was so weird it was beautiful. I purchased it and i am so glad I did. It is a really loverly knife and I enjoy owning it. Would I buy another?.................probably not. But I am glad I have this one.:)
