Ever gift a CPK?

Thanks Justin - pretty stoked for him, maybe even a little envious! :)

His ultimate "dream job" is to do specialty TIG work for a private aerospace company (like Blue Origin). He's a big little kid who wants to build a spaceship, lol! Until then, he's living out a similarly fantastic man-boy dream of helping build/repair Choo-Choo Trains!

I can appreciate a well done TIG fillet weld. Good skill for your Bro to have to help with Taco part fab.

Can you still mow the weeds, pull weeds, chase gophers and moles, wash cars, water the garden, pick up the dog poop, do the dishes, vacuum and dust, and wash windows? :). Mike

Response in the order asked:

- prefer to smoke it!
- depends on the weed!
- yes but prefer traps!
- definitely, I'm really good at that!
- yes, wasting water out of a hose is therapeutic to me!
- I even tend to pick up after arsehole neighbors who are derelicts about their dogs!
- prefer hand wash to dishwasher
- yes, if it's a Dyson but allergic to too much dust!
- not my fave, specially if I have to climb high up!

Sounds like a winning resume to me! I wonder if the wife will go for adopting an adult child. Mike

Mike, I'll be 55 in July but I'm a very youthful, playful and rambunctious mid-lifer (over the hiller?!). Honestly, I sorta didn't grow up after hitting 38ish. Can't you guys tell? :D

I gifted these EDC2 to my two daughters. They are too young to appreciate them now. I will have to wait a few more years before they can carry them and get out there with me.

I absolutely have.

Two years ago I was riding in the truck with my father on the way to Colorado when I told him I had a nice new knife to show him. He kind of rolled his eyes (he knows I am always buying knives and I'm sure he was thinking "Another one? You must be nuts."), but when I handed him my newly acquired FK, I could tell he was intrigued. After using it to clean some fish and prepare a fire, I knew he was blown away. He kept finding an excuse to cut something with it and used it for the entire week in the mountains. Anytime a need to cut something arose, he was reaching for my FK.

Fast forward a few months, and I handed him a brand new FK with buffed black micarta scales for his birthday. Since then, that FK has cleaned every single deer my father has harvested, prepared tons of camp meals, and has been on his belt almost every weekend at our ranch. It has never been sharpened, only stropped, and can still easily shave arm hair. We cleaned three deer in one night with it, washed the blood and guts off, and it would still shave afterwards (No, I'm not exaggerating.). When I asked him if he wanted an HDFK after showing off some pictures, he said "Why would I want one? I already have the perfect knife." That is coming from a man who can buy basically anything he wants.

It gives me great pride and happiness knowing what that FK means to him and how much it has been used. I have gotten more pleasure out of gifting that knife and watching him put it to work than I have ever gotten out of buying a knife for myself. Pay it forward folks! It makes a difference.

Here he is with it cleaning an axis:

T tantrik77 , you just gotta love FKVB, Field Knife Venison Backstrap. ;) If your dad has any desire and the time, you should direct him to my FK destruction video. Fairly early on, I used a frozen FK to baton through a massive frozen elk antler main beam with the help of a sledgehammer! The edge on that knife was basically unphased by that particular abuse.
