Have you ever had that one knife where you loved a certain aspect of it, but everything else was god awful?
For example: my Gerber Instant.
Blade play
Pocket clip broke
Pocket clip was too loose
Edge chipped
Opening was tough, had to really push hard for the assist to take effect
Thumd stud was what I call a "thumb eater"
(this is my preference) i dont like serrations.
And the coating was weak.

But the kicker is, this knife had VERY good ergos, my most comfortable knife, and the edge lasted awhile.

So tell your stories!
Don't be ashamed!

The Benchmade Bedlam

I hated the way the knife felt in your hand
The tip was narrow
The pocket clip was hideous and way too long

But I thought the knife was damn sexy, I love the way it looks. But the pocket clip really did it for me, it was just too long and too ugly.

My Manix, it was fantastic and the M4 held up great, but if I want something to replace a fixed blade I want a bit more blade length

Yeah... SOG Vision. Love the blade and shape of handle, but the clip is awful and makes it difficult to draw.

I had a pocket knife my dad gave me years ago- over thirty years ago anyway. It was a German make, don't remember the company as it was one of my frst knives. I remember it had ivory handles and brass fittings, beautiful looking knife and the blade must have been carbon steel because I moved to Japan and the blade really started to tarnish up pretty quick in that humidity. I soon learned how to care for it though and the two blades it had held an edge like it was no one's business. I had it for years and the bad thing about it was that it was such an awesome, beautiful, well made knife that someonelse took such a liking to it that it was soon lost to me. I carried that knife in my pocket everyday for about ten years- wish I still had it...maybe I should have 'uglied it up some', LOL.

I know its not the Balisong forum but the one knife for me is the Bear Ops B400 I love the weight, feel, and look of it but I hate that the QC issues never improved and that the knife just had so many other issues.

Thanks for the info, i've been wanting a good bali lately. But what I dont want is to drop a ton of money on one. :D

well I don't want to get too deep as this is not the forum but I would go for either a Kimura or a Benchmade Model 51 but get the benchmade on the secondary market you will get a better deal there.
