Ever have the urge... Buck 110

I'm still carrying mine daily. I don't feel dressed without it. I made a pancake sheath, no flap for mine. I wet moulded the knife in the sheath and the sheath on my belt so it fits me very well. The knife is easy to draw and very secure when sheathed. I've tried others, but none satisfies like my 110.

I don't carry mine only because of the weight. For me the lighter a knife is, the more I use it. I like knives that you forget you are carrying until you need it.

Having said that, I love the 110's blade. The grind is superb and the clip point I think is more functional than most of the modern styles. It is a very well thought out and made knife.

Hey Buck, maybe it's time to update it with a version for the 21st century! Same design, just modern materials. Then I probably would carry one!

I've been purchasing mostly Benchmade and Spyderco's, for the last few years.
About a month or more ago, for some reason I decided hey,its time to return to the roots. Purchased one regular Buck 112 and two ecolites, they make great edc's.

This past week I received two 110's a Timber Rattler and Charcoal diamond wood, you know what, for the money you cant beat them.
The fit and finish is top notch, and sure its only 440 steel and not the latest and greatest steels like ZDP or M4 but it works. :D

I think if they could find a way to incorporate a pocket clip into it, and keep the same look and feel without the weight, that would be an awesome modern knife axtalan0.

Hi Suzuki -

I'll bet that STR could make a nice pocket clip for a 110.....Hmmmm.......that would be really cool!

Think of a deep carry pocket clip screwed onto one of the bolsters.

Dang - this place keeps getting me in deeper and deeper lol....

best regards -

I’ll break out my 110 every now and then and carry it for a day or two. It’s such a great design. Very fun to use, though maybe not as fun to carry. Its weight doesn't bother me as much as just the overall bulk of it on a belt.

The nylon sheaths aren’t that bad, but I agree that leather seems a lot more fitting for the 110.

I’ve been meaning to pick up an EcoLite for awhile now. They look like a really good value.

After he makes the clip, we can have a leather maker make us a belt/harness to keep our pants up lol!

The weight of the 110 does not bother me. It's actually extremely reassuring and the knife is comfortable and balanced. What i find to be a pain is having the lump in my side when i sit down.

For some reason, I only carry my 110 ( w/leather sheath), in the winter. Summer, It's always clippies unless I'm going hard bush, then it's fixed all the way.

I put a clip on a U.S. Schrade 7OT about fifteen years ago, and carried it like that for a couple of days. I carried it in a sheath, but my boss finally told me it would have to be 'not so obvious' if I wanted to carry it at work. I worked in West Oakland, and we had too many folks in our program who had violent backgrounds. Visible carry was a no-no.

Anyway, it ended up getting too dented up hitting the floor every time I went to the loo. It would literally pull your pants down if you weren't belted properly. I finally took the clip off and carried in the watch pocket of my jeans.

thx - cpr
