Ever lose a knfie?

I lost a Case folder and a Vic Tinker. Both were stolen. One was lying inside my pickup and the Vic was in my hotel room.

I've misplaced many knifes, but they usually turn up. I am looking at the moment for about 5 knives that have been misplaced inside my house or in one of my vehicles. It has been over a year for one of them.

I had a Gerber Guardian (the original version) that I bought from the neighborhood gunshop. I left it in a bag on the front seat of my Jeep CJ soft-top and the bag was gone. I bought another from the same shop and my soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend walked away with it, and I never bought another.

I lost a nice little stainless lockback at a party that had girls swinging on brass poles. I didn't even want that knife back.

And after all this time, last Sunday I couldn't find the ZT0300 that I have been beating on for years. I looked for two days and realized that I was happy that I had lost it. I could now justify opening the box of one of the many new knives that are sitting in the safe to turn it into a user. I also started eyeing some new stuff.

That same day I found my old knife and was so happy that I had found it. And so disappointed, too.

Years ago I lost the plain edge micarta VG-10 SPOT I had strapped to my backpack. I was flying (carry-on only), so I took it out of the sheath before leaving. That was the last I ever saw of it. To this day I have no idea where it could have gone to, and I've moved twice since. I'd love to replace it, but finding one for sale is hard as hell, and finding one at a reasonable price is impossible.

I lost a SOG Power Plier years ago, a year or so after I got it, so I bought a new one. Found the old one a week later.

I had a Spyderco Remote Release during an exercise in South Korea late '90s. I lost it when it disconnected itself from my belt loop. Never found it, bought another one, but I don't carry it often as I don't like fully-serrated blades.

I have never found a knife that I have lost outside of my own home. Unfortunately the list of knives that I have lost keeps getting longer:

Kershaw Vapor, slipped out of my pocket back in 09

Kershaw Leek S30V, pocket ripped open on a mountain top and I didn't have a chance to look for it.

Loaned out a SOG power lock, the guy lost it and never replaced it. I have since stopped letting people barrow my stuff.

Same day as the SOG my ZT 0150 disappeared from my pack. I think I know the guy who took it, but can't prove it.

I was at my friends family cabin ice fishing for a few days. When I got home I realized that i lost one of my knifes. I called my buddy and told him to keep a look out for my knife. He went up to the cabin a few weeks later and couldnt find it. About four or five months later my friends parents came back from being in Florida for the winter. His dad was doing yard work in the front yard and found my knife lying in the grass and I got it back. The knife must have fell out of my pocket and spent the winter in the snow. I couldn't believe that i got the knife back and that their was only one tiny spot of rust the size of a pin head on the base of the blade.

Yeah, I lost my whole collection of Spydercos, Kershaws and my own handmaids. Honestly if I didn't just find it (a few years later now) I probably would never have come back. It's just too painful to lose your entire hobby to start all over... at least for me.

Glad you found your knife. It's a great feeling. :)

Edit- oh I forgot, I just lost my SOG powerlock. My wife lost hers too a while back. I have a bad habit of leaving stuff on the back of my motorcycle and riding off.

A few years back I was in a Jeep accident and rolled on a rolling road. Sad, I lost my Jeep and my waved delica that day. never could find it. burried some where im sure.

Same year went on a hike while camping. my buddy slipped and fell and lost his buck bantam. Got back to camp were he realised it was missing. back tracked for an hour or so. He kicked some leaves up where he fell and there she was under some sticks.

Never lost a knife, ever (knocking on wood as we speak)

Had to ditch a couple down sewer drains, into the river, and the like though.

Lost a really nice buck 110 about 3 years ago while I was wrestling my cousin in the front yard. It must have fell out of my pocket during then because I never saw it after that. I was really pissed because that was my first knife, and plus my dad had gave to me... And still have yet to replace it with a new one...

Yes, I have lost a few over the years, some were stolen.

I believe that if you have not lost at least one knife, then you are not a true knife user.

lol lol.

I recently lost my first knife. It was a Cold Steel Mini AK-47. I know where it was lost but there is no chance to get it back. I was working in the home of a hoarder, installing a tankless water heater. It's either in their filth filled basement or nasty back yard. =/

Deer hunting behind Grandma's in the Ozarks in 1982, looked down to see an empty sheath. Puma Skinner, looked/re-traced for hours in vain...too many leaves on the ground. I hung the empty sheath in a tree in case someone found the knife, they'd have a sheath.

Cold Steel Gunsite folder disappeared from my pocket on my own property by the back fence three yrs ago. Still look when I'm back there.

And no I've never lost a knife. I almost did. At an event where I was volunteering (stupid highschool)

1. Queen Country Cousin - Lost for about six months in my brother's Jeep, showed up with slightly marked up handles and a small rust spot, but otherwise held up just fine. The D2 didn't even noticeably patina.

2. AG Russel 3" Titanium Lockback - Fell out of my watch pocket at some point, never found it.

3. Kershaw Chive - One of my first knives, moved out and left it at the house.

4. Kershaw Junkyard Dog - Clip got caught on the couch, found it a week later wedged in the cushions

I think those are all the knives I've lost.

SOB! I've lost a few, hate that! I've had some fall out of the pocket/off the belt, or just left them siting some where. It sucks, I hate spending money on replacments, espescialy when its my own neglagence

The best is losing a knife and finding your friend using it a few months later. Me" Hey where'd you get that knife?" Him" Found it in my truck seat a couple months ago." Thanks I'll take it back now.
