Today we had a little downtime from the festivities and I was showing my grandfather some of my knives. He is nearly 90 and chocked full of great stories. After showing him a yellow handled stockman he mentioned a knife he bought years ago. It was a John primble stockman with yellow scales. He then proceeded to tell me about when he thought he lost it by dropping it in a silo full of soybeans. His co-worker jumped down in the beans and told C.D. to drop a large bolt from the same place where his knife fell. He proceeded to drop the bolt into the beans. The friend dug around the beans coming up with the lost knife. After he told this story I reached into my knife box, pulled the knife and reminded him that he gave me that knife along with some others when they last moved. He was glad to see that the old John Primble was still not lost.
