Ever lost your favorite knife and then found it?

A few years back I was about to go swimming at the beach. I had my BM 710 hssr with me and decided I didn't want to have it laying on my towel while I swam. a friend of mine was going to throw some of his stuff in my car so I asked him if he would mind putting the knife away for me. After the beach I asked him where he put it. He said it was in the back seat wrapped in a towel, but neither of us could find it. after a week of it being missing I concluded that it must have fallen out of my car or something and was gone forever. It was in my attempt to replace it that my addiction really developed. since Benchmade no longer made 710 hssr's I had to research other, which lead me to buy multiple. Then about two years later while cleaning my car. I lifted the back seat up and there it was, a little worn but still in excellent condition. That was one of the happiest days of my life.

I lost a CRK lg. reg. in Feb. of 09 somewhere in the house...which I havent

stopped looking for. After reading this thread I looked in the lr sofa where

Ive already looked several times and found my se Drargonfly that I lost 4-5

weeks ago. Good thread. I found my Dfly because of it. ;);)

I always carry Dfly in my lr pockect and Ive Really been missing it a lot!

Two stories,

The first, I had a small all stainless buck that I thought I had in my pocket and fell out in the bus. I gave up looking pretty quickly. A few years later it turned up in the couch :)

The other; my large sebenza fell out of my pocket at work. I felt for it when I needed it to cut a branch and it was gone. I looked all over where I mowed and such and couldnt find it. I was really bummed, and it was lunch so I went back to the truck to grab my food and there it was on my seat. Apparently my boss found it and put it there for me:) That sure made my day

Yes! Lost my C48 (Spyderco Wenger) doing some dirt work on my tractor and was quite sad. About a year later I had to pull the mats off the floor for some reason and there it was! A little rough looking but after some elbow grease it was good to go.

I actually printed up a list with a reward not too long ago because my kids "borrow" things. Got them all back except for green Mini Commander.

I lost my faithful side kick and first ever quality knife, the spyderco Native wally world special. I got that thing when they first came out and never even looked at another knife. I have no clue where that knife went and I tore up this side of the world looking for it. I then came here to find out what the latest and greatest trends in the knife world was and ended up getting a ton of knives trying to find the best one I could get. Now I am selling all the knives and am going to get a sebenza. But still, I would love to find that native. I used it to skin game, gut many a trout, etc.. etc... :(

this just happened to me 2 days ago. about 10pm i discovered my Stretch II was no longer in my pocket. i hadn't required a knife all day and never missed it. i was very bummed but decided to retrace my steps home and went to the alley behind my place where i'd taken the garbage out 6 hrs earlier. BAM! it was tucked under some cardboard on the ground! very cool. it felt like finding a hundred bucks. i really love that knife.:thumbup:

You must be doing something wrong! Glad you find the knife though!

I've lost and found thre knives in the past. The first was a Spyderco Navigator out of my PFD pocket, but recovered it once the tide went out. I also lost a CRKT M-16 for a few months after it popped out of my pocket. I found it in my wife's(then girfriend) driveway after the snow melted. Finally, I lost my Sm Seb while on a run , but retraced my steps and came across it:thumbup:

I lost my Large Regular Sebenza almost a year ago. My sister had just passed away and needless to say I was very upset. I had slipped the Sebenza into a jacket pocket while at the funeral for my sister. I then took the jacket off and put it back in the closet when I got home. I have a lot of suits, so I didn't get back to this particular jacket for some time. I had realized that I had lost my sebenza and couldn't find it anywhere. While sitting at my house, I was thinking about my sister and low and behold it hit me. I knew where my sebenza was, it was in the jacket pocket the one that I wore when I laid my sister to rest. Sad story but true.

A few months ago I had just got my Lionsteel SR-1 and went on a 30 mile 4 wheeler ride at my river house. I packed up and came back home that night and when I got home I couldn't find it in any of my bags. I looked in the truck and all my things and didn't find it. I made it a day or two before I freaked out so much that I made the 1.5 hour drive back to the river house. I was prepared to back track my 4 wheeler route but tore apart the house first and found it in between the couch cushions where I had fallen asleep. I was there for about 15 minutes and then turned around and drove back home. It was a 3 hour drive there and back but worth it for the peace of mind.

Lost my Spyderco Endura (first gen) in the map pocket on the back of the passenger seat of my Dad's Ford Explorer back in 1998-99 and had given up on ever finding it until one day my Mom comes up to me and hands it to me years later (probably 2002-ish). They had just traded their Explorer in on something else and she found it while cleaning out the SUV (she told me where it was).

Haven't lost it since, still carry it on occasion I was probably 15 when I lost it (misplaced and forgot might be more accurate). 26 now and it's weird to think Ive had it over a decade.

I lost my frist fixed blade the buck 119 i had it for along time but i lost it 3 years ago and still cant find it. realy wish i knew where it was.

I lost my Jimmy Lyle folder for about six months. I had it in my back pocket when I was installing a security system after our house had been robbed. I was up in the attic running wires and it slipped out and into the insulation. I did not miss it until the next day. I do not normally carry the knife but I had shown it to a friend.Six months later I was up in the attic laying 3/4 inch plywood down for storage space and found it. No damage to the knife and it was returned to the gun safe where it is to this day.

I don't know if it was my favorite knife, but in the winter of 1980-81 I was hiking up Squaw Peak by Provo, UT in deep snow with my Gerber Mark 1 clipped to my daypack. Somewhere on the mountain it came off the strap on my pack. The next spring my brother found it, a little rust pitted, but otherwise intact. That was a one in a million find.

Which one do you want to hear about???? = the latest was a Spyderco Co-Pilot stainless... always carried it. This knife even went on vacation to the Carribbean and made it through security. One day it went missing and like everyone else I retraced steps and cleaned places where I'd been -even called some folks I'd been to see... no luck -a couple days later as I turned in the drive a flash of a reflection caught my eye.. and there on the support cable for a utility pole was my Co-pilot caught by the clip none the worse for spending a couple nights outside! It must have lifted out of my pocket when I was mowing the lawn. - My son has it now because it is relatively sheeple friendly.... you just can't find many of those "retired" Spyderco models.
Peace
Revvie
