Ever pull out your edc and scare someone?

The sad thing is the country has swallowed the kool aid and we with our knives and guns are certainly the minority. We will eventually be like Britain.

Naw. Well maybe in CA, not in TX.

I've never scared anyone with a knife, I couldn't if I wanted to. I get in trouble if I don't bring a knife to work, and would get laughed at if I was caught without one off duty. I've never met one of these "sheeple".

Man, if I heard a peep from anyone back home in TX then I'd just give them my best "are you an idiot?" look and say "This is TEXAS. You're in _Texas_ and you're honestly asking me about a pocket knife? Hell, forget that, think about how many of us are carrying guns."

And then of course try to explain the utility and virtues of tools and the whole crawling-out-of-the-trees thing.

Oh I thought this was the thread where people posted exp. of which they scared someone with there EDC....not 4 people writing paragraphs about what society hase come too....

AW...I pulled out a victorinox (forgot the model) to cut an apple and scared the crap out of my grandma, it was pretty funny.

It's unfortunate that's what you thought. When you associate with people who are ready for action, the idea of knives doesn't scare them. I scared a guy with some scissors once. He was very scared.

I've had only a couple memorable eperiences-

One time in a Borders book store I used the scissors on an Officer's model to cut a gift certificate from the card thingy, and the register clerk actually refused to help me and made me go get rung up by the manager because I was brandishing a weapon. Yes, a .75 inch pair of double bladed sekret ninja POWER, baby.
I would've been having a serious talk with said manager about the quality and intellgence of the people they were hiring.

I've carried a Delica 4, Camillus CUDA EDC, Boker Trance and Mini-Grip. When I need to use one of them for something, I just use it. If I'm amongst people I think might find such a knife startling, I casually mention "knife" and make sure I deploy it in a non-startling manner.

I've only twice had comments: Once one of my coworkers (a guy, oddly enough) suggested said knife was "threatening." I shrugged it off. He never said any more about it. And once, in a casino, one of the security people approached me and asked me to "bury" it in my pocket, as I wasn't supposed to have entered the casino with it in the first place. Oops!

that seems like the only reasonable reaction to a knife I've heard in this thread so far. Kudos to him for not being a retard.

I have an English girlfriend, and a lot of knives. So every time I pull out my EDC and she's around, I scare the crap out of her. I love her to death, she's fantastic, but man England is... ugh not getting started on this.

About 20 years ago I pulled a balisong on a guy in a bar who broke the bottom off a bottle and threatened a girl. He dropped the bottle and left without further incident.

just about everytime i use a knife in front of people. I dont show off nor do i try to intimidate but that just goes to show that the general non knife enthusiast is fairly timid around sharp objects. The only knives that dont scare most folk i wouldnt use.
