Ever regret a knife purchase?

The only one that I truly regret purchasing, is a CRKT Ripple. The fit and finish is fine, but the handle has so many sharp edges that it is painful to hold. The flipper action ensures that your finger comes to rest on some sharp jimping as well. I think the 'Ripple' name is derived from what you see when you do the right thing by tossing it into a pond!

Hmm...my Ripple has none of those issues.

Anyway, I sort of regret one of my recent purchases. The seller advertised as NIB, but it has quite clear signs of wear...a few scratches on the blade, the framelock release has a thumb-sized polish print and so on lol.

Oh well, caveat emptor.

I bought a Paul Chen/CAS Starship with the "Nature" lock.:o

Sounded cool: Titanium frame with pearl inlays.

It had no practical value, whatsoever: Dagger grind, not sharp, awkward to open and close, odd clip.

But, hey, it came with a "neat-o" postcard sized "Poster" with a cheesy 70's style drawing on it, and a wooden box that fit the knife just so.:barf:

Really, other than that, I haven't made any horrible mistakes. A couple slight regrets, but nothing more.

Aw, heck. I just got a bit of nostalgia, and bid on one. :D I never said it didn't look cool.:p

With my SOG S-1 Bowie being a favorite, I found the S1T Bowie in a 2005 "special edition" and cheap (around $175). This was my first experience with SOG's Taiwanese line and a huge disappoinment.

Leatherman made some small folders a couple years back. I got one that looked kinda neat.
"stainless" bead blast blade rusts instantly.
