Traced all my steps yesterday but can"t find my lost Small Sebenza! I'm really in a bad mood going into the weekend. Had it at the office yesterday morning. Reached for it in the afternoon and it's gone. Never heard it hit the floor or the pavement anywhere. Went back to the restaurant where I ate and of course they don't know either. I've had the seatbelt yank it a couple of times but I've always noticed it. AAHHHHH.

pouch time.

I lost an inexpensive SAK a couple weeks ago. Not a monetary loss, but a sentimental one. I now have a belt pouch.

:(

For pocket carry, I also have a clip on a lace that loops the belt. Yeah, there's a line from belt to pocket, but the knife won't fall out.

That's a rough one. :( Check your laundry, hamper, etc, incase you switched pants and they are still on the pair you wore.

Check in your auto. I have had clip knives catch on seat belt and when I go to use it I don't have the knife. It will land in the back floorboard or under seat. I have had my sebenzas do this sometime. Good luck.

That sucks :( . You say you've had your seat belt grab it before? Try looking under car seats.

Check in your auto.

When my knife goes missing, 90% of the time I find it in the car, between the seat and console, under the seat, etc. Give that a real good look. Even if its not there, there are good odds you find it somewhere.

You feel like crying ? I'd feel like slashing my wrists, good job you don't have your knife to do it with !!!

sorry to hear it mate.

look long and hard till your eyes bleed, then do it again the next day, and the next, until you either find it or loose enough income to have bought another.

I run a paracord lanyard through anything clipped in my pocket and tie it off on my belt.

I have gone 15 years without loosing a knife, and then this past April my luck ran out. I lost my Spyderco Mother of Pearl Kopa. Not my most expensive, but darned near close to it. It was a momentary lapse of concentration, as I ALWAYS know exactly where my knives are. I've perfected my self-pat-down to check for keys, knife, wallet, and I try to mentally note when and where I use, or put down each knife.

Oh, well. I didn't cry for long. I went out and bought a Kershaw Shun Santoku.

That sucks that you lost it. This is why I hate pocket clips. I like my knives to ride in the bottom of my pocket. Not as quick to get out but I just don't trust any clips.

Yes, I've searched the vehicle. Even thought about ripping the carpets up. I also ususally always know where my knives are and am usually very careful. I know I would have heard it hit the ground if the seatbelt had pryed it loose. I thought maybe the restaurant but if it was found it probably went home with the finder. :grumpy:

It's a very strange disappearance, and a sad and hard leson learned. Oh well, keep saving the change and in another 6 months I'll be ready to go again. Unless of course I see one for sale here sooner. Ya'll have a great weekend.

I myself have never permanently lost a knife ('lost' 2 different knives, only to find them later on), but I still feel for you, hope you find it though...

I do the same pat-down thing whenever I leave anywhere.

Keep looking!

Unless you were walking in the wilderness, it's most likely either in your car or at home...
Good luck!

We're keeping our fingers crossed for you!

Allow me to make you feel better.... about 5 years ago, I lost 95% of my collection. Some were El-Cheapos, most were not. Just off the top of my head, a partial list of what was lost:

3 Benchmade Pinnacles
3 M.O.D. Tempests (The ones with Bead-blasted blades)
1 Spyderco Mini Dyad (Micarta handles)
Several Spyderco Enduras & Delicas
1 of 2 Custom Bob Dozier K-4s [Still have the other one, though]
A $400 Custom-made & designed Frame lock
1 Benchmade A.F.C.K. w / Plain edge [Still have a black combo-edge model]

And that's just off the top of my head! I'll sometimes go through old threads on BF, and be reminded about yet another knife I lost that I had forgotten about. This is how I feel when that happens....

Thing is, I don't know if they were lost during the move, or if the so-called family friend who helped us move, perhaps helped himself to most of my collection that was kept in one spot. (He was a knife collector who could only afford the most inexpensive of Buck models). I lost thousands of dollars worth of knives.

My humble collection that I've amassed over the last 5 years is just that.... small & humble.
